Editorial note
This is an experiment in publication. In the humanities it is still customary to think of publication in terms of a book (preferably put out by a respected publisher). In other fields, like the sciences, internet publication has become the rule. What about something in-between, combining easy accessibility and the possibility of presenting a larger argument? My sense, after trying, is that the result is problematic, because the two forms of publication presuppose different ways of reading and arguing, to put it in terms of
pragmatics.
